Voting Center Information - SMS Service (105 SMS Short Code) for National Parliamentary Election 2026
This SMS service enables voters to conveniently access their designated polling center information and voter serial number using their mobile phones. To utilize the service, voters must send an SMS containing the prescribed keyword and their National ID (NID) number to the short code 105. The service is accessible to all eligible subscribers with sufficient balance.

Question: When will this service be available?
Answer:
The service will go live on February 9, 2026, at 00:00.
Question: How can I get my polling center information?
Answer:
Type PC followed by your NID number and send it to 105.
SMS Format:
PC NID
Example:
PC 1987654321 → Send to 105
Question: I have an old 13-digit NID (not Smart NID) and I am getting an “Invalid NID” error. What should I do?
Answer:
If you have an old 13-digit NID, you must add your 4-digit birth year at the beginning to make it a 17-digit NID.
Example:
If your birth year is 1985, add 1985 before your NID.
For Smart NID holders, use the 10-digit NID only. No birth year is needed.
Question: What information will I receive in the reply SMS?
Answer:
You will receive:
- Name of your polling center
- Address of your polling center
- Your voter serial number
Question: How long does it take to receive the SMS?
Answer:
The response is usually immediate.
In some cases, it may take 1–2 minutes, depending on the Election Commission system.
If you do not receive any SMS, it is recommended to visit the Smart Bangladesh Election App.
Question: Is the SMS format case sensitive?
Answer:
No. The keyword is not case sensitive.
Accepted formats include:
- pc
- PC
- Pc
- pC
Only these formats are accepted. Any other keyword will be rejected.
Question: Is any pre-registration required?
Answer:
No. Pre-registration is not required.
Charges & Refunds
Question: What is the charge for this service?
Answer:
This is a chargeable MO SMS service.
- Charge: BDT 1.39 per SMS
- Breakdown:
- Base charge: BDT 1.00
- VAT, SD & SC: 39%
Question: Will I be charged for wrong keyword or incorrect NID?
Answer:
Yes. You will be charged for every SMS sent, whether the request is valid or invalid.
Question: My balance was deducted, but I did not receive any SMS. What should I do?
Answer:
Grameenphone will validate your complaint.
If it is confirmed as a system failure and eligible under regulatory guidelines, a refund will be processed.
Question: I received the SMS after voting hours ended. What should I do?
Answer:
This situation should not occur.
Customers normally receive the SMS within 1–2 minutes.
Since this is an MO charging service:
- Invalid keywords
- Insufficient balance
will result in no SMS response.
Question: What happens if I do not have sufficient balance?
Answer:
Your SMS request will not be processed, and no information will be returned.
Troubleshooting
Unable to Send SMS to 105
(For customers who cannot send the SMS or receive an immediate “Failed” message)
Question: Why is my SMS to 105 failing immediately?
Answer:
Your phone may have marked 105 as a Premium SMS number.
If you previously selected “Never Allow” or “Block”, the phone may now block it silently.
Question: How do I unblock this on Android smartphones?
Samsung:
Settings → Apps → Special Access → Use Premium SMS Services → Messages → Select Always Allow
Xiaomi / Redmi:
Settings → Privacy Protection → Special Permissions → Premium SMS Access → Messages → Select Always Allow
Stock Android / Motorola:
Settings → Apps & Notifications → Special App Access → Premium SMS Access → Set to Always Allow
Question: I changed the setting but it still fails. What should I do?
Answer:
Your messaging app may be stuck.
Steps:
- Go to Settings → Apps → Messages
- Select Storage
- Tap Clear Data
- Restart your phone
- Try sending the SMS again
- When prompted, select Allow
Question: I am using a button phone (feature phone) and it fails. Why?
Answer:
Check the following:
- Ensure Fixed Dialing Mode (FDN) is OFF
- Found in Call Settings
- Requires PIN2
- Ensure you have sufficient Main Account Balance
Important Notes
- SMS charge applies for every request, valid or invalid
- Service depends on the availability of Election Commission data
- Bangladesh Election Commission may modify or suspend the service at any time
